Scholarships
In 2021 we began our scholarships and Bursaries Award Programme.
We offer two full tuition scholarships to train with us in Ballet for one year, this will be reassessed termly. We also offer a wide range of bursaries to reward and encourage students, and to help them fulfil their potential.
They can be awarded:

for outstanding performance and ability

for highly gifted and talented dancers
The majority of our bursary awards are given in the form of a reduction in your tuition fees.
Here is a selection of the scholarships we offer.
You don’t need to apply specifically for these – everyone who auditions at Bristol Ballet School will be considered for them automatically.
The Hope Scholarship
– for outstanding performance and ability in ballet
The Bristol Ballet School Scholarship and Buries
- To support highly gifted and talented applicants from low income families to begin their studies as well as supporting existing pupils to continue and complete their dance education at Bristol Ballet School.
Applications are now open for 2021 entry
Bristol Ballet school is following all advice from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Public Health England to keep our community safe. Our priority is to ensure the wellbeing of our students, staff and new applicants.
We will, therefore, not offer in-person auditions for entry in 2021.
For 2021/ entry. Determined by the Bristol Ballet School financial award panel will be assessed as part of the recorded audition process.
To be eligible, applicants must have reached the age of 5 years.
The video comprises two sections
Classical Ballet Video
Please film yourself performing three ballet exercises demonstrated from a front-facing and a back-facing perspective. (maximum total: 15 minutes)

Personal Statement Video
Please film an introduction to yourself giving your name, your previous dance experience and your current dance activities. Then please address the following question (maximum total: 5 minutes)

What has inspired you to want to become a dancer
Our audition procedure is designed to enable us to find out about you – not just how good a dancer and performer you are, but why you love dance and what sort of a person you are, and to assess whether you have the potential to be the sort of dancer who will benefit from our dance program.
The deadline to submit a recorded audition is 03 June 2021.
We will contact you to let you know whether your application has been successful as applications are considered on a rolling basis. Please be aware that it is not guaranteed that all applications will result in an award.

Donate - The Hope and Bristol Ballet School Scholarship
The Hope and BBS Scholarship distributes grants to students studying at Bristol Ballet School who are in need of additional financial support. These awards make a real difference to those who might otherwise not have the resources necessary to either take up a place or complete their training.
