Eduction 

 

Candice Morton-Smart dance training began at a young age in Bristol studying under Ruth Lewis (Royal Ballet) at The Bristol School of Dancing. Having studied as a junior and senior associate with Central School of Ballet, Candice later went on to secure a vocational placement on a full scholarship. 

 

Performing Experience

 

Having completed her vocational training Candice relocated from London to Salzburg, Austria where she continued her classical dance training with Ballet Theatre Salzburg and went on to become a professional dancer with 

The Salzburg Ballet and later Dancer Stage Company Amsterdam, Netherlands. 

 

Teaching Experience 

 

Candice went on to study and be awarded the Certificate of Ballet Teaching Studies with the Royal Academy of Dance, she began a career as a ballet teacher and choreographer in Bristol and the South West. In 2017 Candice opened and founded Bristol Ballet School, specialising in Classical Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Modern, Tap, Greek and National dance. Candice has coached many pupils who have gone on to gain excellent exam results

and secure placements at professional dance schools such as the Royal Ballet School, Elmhurst, English National Ballet, Central School of Ballet, Northern Ballet and Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance. Candice worked as Ballet Master at Bristol Dance Associates for many years, she has taught many talented young dancers from all over the South West. Currently she teaches Ballet, Pointe, Body Conditioning/Pilates and Contemporary Dance at Bath Dance College as well as her own School - Bristol Ballet School. 

 

Candice has choreographed for professional shows creating many original works which are well regarded.

Candice offers private coaching at her dance school in Bristol for dancers aged 6 years and upwards. She coaches students for RAD and ISTD examinations, choreographs dances for dance festivals in all dance genres and for auditions for professional dance schools. 

 

Candice is also a fully qualified Pilates Teacher and Yoga Teacher.

Candice has studied with esteemed teachers such as Valerie Valentine (Royal Ballet), Frank Freeman (Royal Ballet), Maria Teresa del Real (English National Ballet), Christopher Michael Gable (Royal Ballet), Carol Gable (Royal Ballet), Wayne Sleep (Royal Ballet), Cynthia Gregory-Miller (American Ballet Theatre). Karen Paisey (Royal Ballet). 

 

 

Young Performer 

 

Candice's first professional dance experience was performing in Bolero. Saddlers Wells Theatre, London with Beljart Ballet, 2000. As a young dancer Candice performed with Birmingham Royal Ballet, Central School of Ballet, WestEnd CATS, National Youth Ballet, English Youth Ballet and Bristol Youth Ballet.

Winner/Semi Finalist in the Janet Cram awards 

Awarded advanced in Royal Academy of Dance exams

Semi-finalist in 'Young Dancer Competition' 1999

 

Professional Experience and Significant Accomplishments

 

Candice has gained extensive experience performing in pantomimes, she has danced on stages such as The Bloomsbury Theatre, The William Baylis Theatre, The Cocrane Theatre and Saddlers Wells. She has also featured in and been involved with many BBC Tv productions, promotional and modelling projects.
