Bristol Ballet School Regulation Uniform

UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS AND DETAILED UNIFORM SPECIFICATIONS

We ask all students to wear the recommended uniform. Our uniforms are Royal Academy of Dance recommended and of good quality. The uniforms not only ensure students look elegant but also feel confident. You can purchase the uniform yourself the items are readily available at any quality ballet shop.

• All uniform should be clean and well-fitting, and underwear should not be visible.

• Jewellery should not be worn, unless required for religious or cultural reasons.

• Where used, makeup should be kept light and to a minimum.

• If hair is too short to be tied in a bun, it should be neatly groomed and styled off the face and neck so that the line of the head and neck is not obscured.

Uniform Requirements

As we prepare for classes, it's essential that all students have the appropriate uniform for their grade level. Below are the requirements:

Royal Academy of Dance Pre-Primary - Primary Ballet

- Freed Rosie leotard in Lilac

- Freed Belle skirt in Lilac

- Skin tone ballet shoes and socks

Royal Academy of Dance Grade 1 - 3 Ballet

- Freed Iris Lavender leotard, skin tone socks, skin tone leather ballet shoes

- Skin tone ballet shoes (split sole canvas for Grade 3) and tights

- Character skirt with purple ribbons

Royal Academy of Dance Grade 4 - 5 Ballet

- Freed Ivy Damson leotard

- Skin tone split sole canvas ballet shoes and tights

- Character skirt with purple ribbons

Royal Academy of Dance Vocational Ballet

- RV Margot Black leotard

- Skin tone split sole canvas ballet shoes and tights

- Pointe shoes

Boys Uniform Requirements:

Royal Academy of Dance Pre-Primary - Primary & Grade 1 - 3 Ballet

- Top: Freed of London Rowan in White

- Bottoms: Freed of London Arlo in Navy

- White ballet shoes and socks

Royal Academy of Dance Grade 4 - 5 & Vocational Ballet 

- Freed of London Men's/Boys' RAD Cotton Stirruped Tights in Navy or Black

- Freed RAD Men's Tank Leotard in White

- White ballet shoes and socks

Modern & Tap (All Grades):

- Girls: Purple Suzie, black convertible tights, black Timestep shoes

- Boys: Black fitted T-shirt (Capezio SE10618 OR), black short-sleeved leotard (Capezio SE102B), black jazz pants, black RV Oxford tap shoes (BCT)

Contemporary and Musical Theatre :

- Girls: black Suzie, black convertible tights, Bristol Ballet School T-Shirt

Please ensure your child arrives in the correct uniform, as it helps foster a professional dance environment.

Essential Items for Dance Classes

We recommend that all students bring a dance bag to class, which should include the following essential items:

- Water Bottle: Staying hydrated is crucial, especially if your child attends multiple classes.

- Snacks: If they are staying for two or more classes, pack some healthy snacks to keep their energy levels up.
